While both the teacher and the students are in the same room, they are actually in two completely different worlds. The teacher on the white board side is far away from the students’ world and have no idea what’s really going in their minds. Three years ago, I was on the other side of the room, and I still remember all the silent jokes I used to share with my desk partner and friends. I was focusing on the lecture and at the same time thinking about what muscle to hit today at the gym. Now, I’m on the teacher’s side, and it’s really weird and loaded of responsibility. As a teacher, I enter the room thinking about how to attract those students’ attention to the lecture, communicate the material efficiently, and finish on time. However, as a student, I enter the class room laughing with my friends, sit down and start learning. Lecturing is completely different, and answering the smart questions from the students and convincing them is sometimes challenging. Through the last two semesters, I tried to learn from my mistakes, and I considered what I can do better. I now watch how my professors teach, and I even take notes to enhance my lecturing skills,so lets see what I can do in the next semesters!
